Mediator Groups Etiquette and Usage Guidelines

By adhering to these guidelines, members can contribute to a positive and productive discussion environment where ideas are exchanged respectfully and constructively.

1. Respectful Communication:

Treat all members with respect and kindness. Avoid personal attacks, insults, or offensive language. Disagreements should be handled with civility and constructive dialogue.

2. Stay On Topic:

Keep discussions relevant to the group's purpose or the current topic. Off-topic conversations can be distracting and may disrupt the flow of conversation.

3. Listen Actively:

Before responding, ensure you understand the points others are making. Active listening promotes meaningful dialogue and minimizes misunderstandings.

4. Use Clear and Concise Language:

Communicate your thoughts clearly and succinctly. Avoid ambiguous or overly complex language that may confuse others.

5. Be Open-Minded:

Remain open to different perspectives and opinions. Engage in discussions with a willingness to learn from others and consider alternative viewpoints.

6. Respect Privacy:

Avoid sharing personal information about yourself or others without consent. Respect the privacy of fellow members and maintain confidentiality when necessary.

7. No Spamming or Self-Promotion:

Refrain from excessive self-promotion or spamming the group with irrelevant content. Contributions should add value to the discussion rather than serve personal interests.

8. Fact-Check Information:

Before sharing news, articles, or other information, verify its accuracy and credibility. Misinformation can spread quickly and undermine productive discourse.

9. Use Appropriate Language and Tone:

Maintain a professional and courteous tone in your interactions. Avoid using offensive language, sarcasm, or humour that may be misinterpreted.

10. Acknowledge and Respond:

Acknowledge contributions from other members by liking, reacting, or replying to their posts. Respond promptly to direct inquiries or comments directed towards you.

11. Respect Moderators:

Follow the instructions of moderators and administrators. They are responsible for maintaining order and enforcing group rules.

12. Constructive Feedback:

Offer feedback and critique in a constructive manner. Focus on the content of the discussion rather than attacking the individual.

13. Resolve Conflicts Privately:

If conflicts arise, attempt to resolve them privately through direct messages or other appropriate channels. Avoid escalating disagreements publicly.

14. Be Patient and Understanding:

Recognise that not everyone may share your level of knowledge or understanding. Be patient when explaining concepts and be understanding of differing opinions.

15. Report Violations:

If you encounter behaviour that violates group rules or disrupts the community, report it to the moderators or administrators promptly. Do not engage in confrontations or retaliation.
